Currently serving as the Manager at Guardian Training Center, Michelle has dedicated her career to equipping individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to stay safe in today’s unpredictable world. She brings a wealth of expertise in firearms instruction, first aid, and threat assessment, and plays a pivotal role in developing and overseeing training programs at GTC. Michelle’s dedication to creating impactful, hands-on training stems from her own extensive background as a former deputy and first responder, where she frequently dealt with high-pressure situations that required fast, strategic thinking.

Michelle’s journey into law enforcement began in the early 1990s when she worked as an Animal Control Officer and later as a Crime Prevention Officer with the Palo Alto Police Department. During this time, she developed and implemented crime prevention programs such as Neighborhood Watch and school-based drug-free initiatives. Her passion for public service continued when she transitioned into the role of Park Ranger for the City of Palo Alto, where she spent 17 years leading interpretive programs, responding to fire and first aid emergencies, and contributing to habitat restoration efforts. These diverse experiences not only honed her skills in crisis management and emergency response but also solidified her commitment to community safety and education.

In 2009, Michelle joined the Marin County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy, where she served on various specialized teams, including the Honor Guard and Hostage Negotiations Team. Additionally, she took on the roles of firearms and first aid instructor, providing critical training to law enforcement personnel. Michelle also worked as a Recruit Training Officer and Academy Instructor for both the National Park Service Seasonal Ranger Academy and the Basic Police Academy, further expanding her impact in law enforcement training. Whether instructing in firearms safety or guiding participants through first aid certification, Michelle’s goal is to empower individuals with the confidence and skills needed to navigate challenging situations.
